Description
Compania Vinicola del Norte de Espana was established in 1879 in Haro, Rioja. CVNE is still managed by the descedents of the brothers responsible for it’s establishment. Known for producing some of the most traditional wines in Rioja, CVNE is also a huge proponent for innovation in the region. The Imperial range from CVNE are some of the finest wines made in Rioja.
An excellent introduction to the quality of C.V.N.E.’s wines; this Crianza made from premium Rioja Alta grapes punches well above its weight. A surprisingly aromatic nose with red fruits and liquorice, nicely balanced with the American oak flavours of vanilla, cocoa and caramel. Try pairing with pizza or a lamb casserole.
