Nicolas Catena Zapeta is an extremely deserved winner of a lifetime achievement award from the wine enthusiast. His seach for perfection and innovation helped put Argentina on the wine map and inspired a generation of Argentinian winemakers. However, it doesn’t just stop at Nicolas. His daughter, Dr Laura Catena, has taken charge of the estate and the name has gone from strength to strength under her stewardship. A medical doctor, winemaker and figure of inspiration, Laura is a one-off. She has become an icon in the world of wine and continues to push boundaries and make incredible wines.

The Catena approach has always been terroir first, which is how they have uncovered some of the finest land Argentina has to offer. The Addriana vineyard is thought of as the Grand Cru of South America – the wines from here are simply sensational.

The Catena wines are a special assemblage of High Mountain Estate Vineyards made by fourth generation vintner, Laura Catena and chief winemaker, Alejandro Vigil. A top South American chardonnay with aromas of pear, apricot and lemon. There are subtle hints of white flowers and warm, smoky notes on the finish. Enjoy with grilled white fish or chicken in a white sauce.
