Wines sold ‘in bond’ do not include any alcohol duty or VAT. The bottles/cases must be stored in a bonded account with a HMRC registered professional storage facility, they cannot be ordered for home delivery.
When these wines are withdrawn from the bonded storage facility, the duty and VAT are then payable.

Taittinger is one of the few Grande Marques which remains family owned and operated to this day. The house cellars once belonged to Benedictine monks and is now UNESCO listed. The hallmark of Taittinger is the large percetnage of Chardonnay in their wines. This is exemplified in their blanc de blancs Prestige Cuvee, Comtes de Champagne.
