Description
Château Doisy Védrines 2013 is a wonderfully precise, linear Sauternes style.
Doisy Védrines was once part of the large Doisy estate that included Doisy Daëne and Doisy Dubroca, founded in 1704 by the Védrines family and divided in 1851. Today, at 27 hectares, it is the largest of the Doisy estates.
Today, the vineyard is owned by the Casteja family(of Domaine de L’Eglise fame, amongst other Bordeaux estate). Even though Doisy Védrines is situated in Barsac, the Sauternes appellation is used on the label. The wine is aged in (60% new) French oak barrels for an average of 18 months.
