Description
Château Margaux 2010 comes from a great Bordeaux vintage and was purchased in its original wooden cases.
Château Margaux is one of Bordeaux’s most strikingly elegant châteaux, approached by a grand tree-lined avenue. Yet, despite the estate’s Bordeaux premier cru status, Margaux has a wonderful family feel, lacking the pretension and snobbery that enshrouds other elite Bordeaux châteaux – a highlight of our annual tasting visits – and we always receive a genuinely warm and friendly welcome. And Margaux’s engaging personality is reflected in its fine red wines – renowned for being rich and opulent.
The key behind Margaux’s approach has been owner Corinne Mentzelopoulos who (together with the late director Paul Pontallier) has led Margaux both spiritually and in terms of quality, and there seems to be a remarkable team ethic and bond from the vineyard workers right through to the management. Philippe Bascaules was appointed director in 2016.
