RED WINE

As Ladieras is made using 30 – 60 year old Garnacha vines from tiny, high altitude vineyards. Fermented using indiegnnous yeast, the wine is aged in a combination of large oak barrels and concrete eggs. A lifted nose of raspberry, red cherry, bay and rosemary. The palate is suprisingly light in spite of the great flavour concentration. Try pairing with herb-crusted lamb or even give it a go with sushi!

Nice red fruit in the nose. Soft taste with strawberry red fruit on the tounge. Nice opening in the end.

The 2018 As Ladieras was produced with grapes from the northern slopes of the village of Ainzón. It fermented with 50% full clusters in open 5,000-kilo vats and matured in approximately equal parts in 500-liter oak barrels, concrete vat and concrete eggs for 10 months. It's 14.5% alcohol but keeps freshness and balance. There is better integration of the oak compared with the previous vintage I tasted; it's floral and fresher, with red rather than black fruit. There is tension in the palate, fine tannins and a long finish. 10,920 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2020.
