RED WINE

Pierre Bourée’s Bourgogne Rouge 2018 is a great introduction to the domaine’s Pinot Noir range and a fine rendition of the classic red Burgundy style. As estate tradition dictates, fermentation occurs in foudres, prior to 16 months’ aging in French barrique, during which the barrels are rolled to stir up the lees to add further complexity. The cuvée is then bottled without filtration to retain a wonderfully pure expression of classic Burgundian Pinot Noir style.

Acidity balances the moderate tannins and elegant red fruit.

    CRITIC SCORE 90/100

Limpid ruby colour. Ripe red fruit aromas of wild strawberry, cherry and cranberry – fresh and vivid with floral violet, musky verbena and spice. Lush ripe front palate, good fresh centre backed by soft tannins and a mineral base that underlies the development of lightly macerated fruit and spice with creamy breadth, pleasantly piquant acidity and a lingering aromatic finish. An exceptional Bourgogne with good Pinot Noir typicity showing its northern Côtes de Nuits provenance
