Description
Domaine Pierre Bouree are a traditional producer, perhaps verging on old fashioned. Sometimes the oldies are goldies.. The grapes are still trodeen by foot and old wooden Vats are still used instead of modern stainless steel. Best of all, they only release their wines when ready (and delicious) to drink. La Croix Blanche is a tiny vineyard of less than a hectare, well placed on the middle of the slope on the right hand side at the entry into the village of Fixin, and gives wine more akin to Les Hervelets and Les Arvelets amongst the premiers crus in elegance of expression, than to the firmness and power of the Clos de la Perrière and Clos de Chapitre. Aromas of red berries, liquorice and a ferrous hint. The palate is fleshy but elegeant, true Fixin.
