Description
Domaine Pierre Bouree are a traditional producer, perhaps verging on old fashioned. Sometimes the oldies are goodies.. The grapes are still trodden by foot and old wooden Vats are still used instead of modern stainless steel. Best of all, they only release their wines when ready (and delicious) to drink. Pierre Bourée’s 2018 Santenay 1er Cru Les Gravieres is an intense, concentrated, aromatic style of Pinot Noir redolent of the Santenay appellation. Burgundy’s Santenay 1er Cru is situated in the Côte de Beaune, adjacent to Chassagne Montrachet in the region’s south. Red fruit galore on the nose with a little hint of blackberry. The palate is spicy with notes of liquorice and pepper.
