What does “In Bond” mean?
Wines sold ‘in bond’ do not include any alcohol duty or VAT. The bottles/cases must be stored in a bonded account with a HMRC registered professional storage facility, they cannot be ordered for home delivery.
When these wines are withdrawn from the bonded storage facility, the duty and VAT are then payable.
Cadman Wine does not operate storage accounts on behalf of customers but we can deliver to your existing storage account or help you set one up with our preferred partners.
Hambledon, Premiere Cuvee, Brut Vintage, England
Hambledon, Premiere Cuvee, Brut Vintage, England
This is Hambledon’s iconic cuvee, produced exclusively from estate-grown fruit, is aged at least 62 months on the lees! Confit lemon, orange blossom and white lily exude on the nose, nestling amongst ripe apricot, white peach and baked red apple. The palate intensifies, evolving into tarte Tatin, almond croissant and a dusting of crumble, yet maintaining a precise structure, creamy texture and mouth-watering acidity. The finish develops a mineral, chalky quality, nodding to Hambledon’s Hampshire terroir, and the svelte mousse remains persistent and elegant. Incredibly complex and immensely enjoyable.

CRITIC SCORE 92/100
The NV Première Cuvée comes from pre-selected grapes, 14% fermented in French oak, the remainder in stainless steel with a minimum 46 months on the lees. It has a dosage of 2g/L. Initially steely and reserved, it only takes a couple of swirls to reveal more leesy aromas, touches of baked bread and yellow flowers; there is fine definition here. The palate is well balanced with a touch of sour lemon on the entry that segues into a leesy midpalate. This is a classy English sparkling wine: taut and focused with saline notes defining the energetic finish. Recommended.
92/100 - Neal Martin, Vinous (Tasted June 2020)
