The Beauty of May. Wines of Saint Peray are rarely seen these days and Laure Colombo is on a mission to see the appleations revival – we are delighted. This textured wine is a 60:40 blend or Roussanne and Marsanne which is vinified in oak barrels. Floral notes combine with quince and citrus fruit on the nose. The mouth is full bodied but a clear line of mineral acidity refreshing the palate. An excellent match for Roast Chicken or heavier fish dishes.

A 60-40 blend of Roussanne and Marsanne, the 2019 Saint Peray la Belle de Mai is a worthy successor to the excellent 2018 version. Ripe and round, honeyed and rich, yet possessing adequate structuring acids and a lingering, silky-textured finish, it's a full-bodied, mouthfilling white that should drink well for a couple of years.
