Description
Mt Difficulty’s story begins in the early 1990’s with ‘The Gang Of Four’ – the owners of five newly-planted vineyards in Bannockburn. Upon a handshake they decided to work together to produce wine under one label. This handshake bound the owners of Molyneux, Mansons Farm, Verboeket Estate and Full Circle until 2004 when Mt Difficulty Wines Ltd was officially formed. Today, Mt Difficulty is one of the most important producers in Central Otago with vineyards across the region (and some of the oldest vines). They are considered to be one of the top producers in an already premium region for Pinot Noir.
Roaring Meg wines are made in a more approachable style than the main Mt Difficulty wines. These fruit forward, supple wines are extremely popular all over the world and provide a glimpse of Mt Difficulty’s prowess. An intense and inviting bouquet of frangipani blossom with nashi pear and fresh ginger. A full and rich flavoured palate of white peach and crunchy green pear initially, flowing through with a fine natural acidity. An off-dry palate gives a succulent and long finish.
