Marion’s Vineyard is a selection of predominantly two Pinot Noir clones; the Pommard and the Abel clone. Luscious flavours of ripe strawberries and cherries with hints of dark chocolate and pinecones. Spicy, with well-rounded, silky tannins. Try pairing with pigeon or lamb.

    Description

Schubert’s philosophy is to craft wines of uncompromising quality that would stand out alongside the finest in the world. 14 hectares of wines are closely planted in the traditional, European style and the unique climate produces low yields. As a result they have been quick to capture the attention of connoisseurs and critics alike for their alluring, internationally award winning wines of outstanding character, complexity, balance and grace. Schubert Wines obtained full organic certification with BioGro New Zealand in 2013.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Marion's Vineyard is seductive yet savory. It has excellent clarity of fruit: sweet strawberry, black cherry and damson sit alongside subtle florals and the spice of French oak (35% new). There's a sense of both ease and freshness here, the wine's acidity making the mouth water uncontrollably. The tannins are well judged, providing the mouth with reassuring grip and a very fine chalky texture. Long and savory finish.
